On the road by 9:30 starting off at 60 degrees & breezy, no traffic, & beautiful roads. First stop Caples Lake, suspension adjustment necessary; Sue's comment; she rides like a pregnant mare.
Next stop was the Whoa Nellie Deli in the Mobil gas station at the entrance to tioga pass. Yummy fish tacos. www.thesierraweb.com/tiogagasmart Then onto hwy 120E and the fun whoop-t-do's roller coaster road where the rider in front of you disappears. On the big open road wild horses ran along with us. Got to downtown Tonopah at 5pm. Waited way to long for mexican dinner thanks to the class reunion of 69 (who knew there were that many graduates.) Got back after dark so the bugs on Big Gal going to have wait till morning much to Lyndes dismay, so she getting up bright and early to hydrate the bugs. We finally made Maggy repack so we would have room for our stuff.
YAY, A BLOG TO FOLLOW. Glad to hear you guys are doing the Slot Canyons. Jack and I did the upper slot canyon when we went to my class reunion in Page 2 years ago. The lower slot canyon is longer, I guess, but even the short trip is great for some real challenging photography. I didn't get very many good pics so take a lot and try and use all the settings you can. I guess Linda and Barbara did the rafting trip that starts right below the bridge and in front of the dam, next time we go to Page I must do that. From Page to Mexican Hat you will see the poorest and most depressed reservation land and not much scenery but after that, beautiful Colorado.
ReplyDeleteDon't let Linda check her air alone! I also left a message on Linda's page.
